Since its inception in 2014, Queens Gambit has been on a mission to harness the power of chess to cultivate the next generation of leaders. With a focus on creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences, we aim to empower youth to expand their cognitive skills, develop resilience, and engage deeply with their communities. We are thrilled to announce our first slate of partnerships for the Winter 2025 session!
This season, we are excited to collaborate with the following organizations and schools to bring our transformative chess programs to life:
H.O.P.E. for Tomorrow Inc.
Pittsburgh Area Community Schools (Sto Rox Primary Site)
Pittsburgh Greenfield K-8
Pittsburgh Liberty K-5
Pittsburgh Lincoln PreK-5
Wilkinsburg Public Library
YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh (Colfax K-8 Site)
About Our Program
Our after-school chess program is designed to foster strategic thinking, enhance problem-solving skills, and promote collaboration among participants. With each session, students delve into the world of chess while developing critical life skills like decision-making, focus, and teamwork.
Each series runs for up to 18 weeks, with weekly sessions hosted at a location chosen by our partners to ensure maximum accessibility for participants. By serving approximately 2,000 youth annually in grades 1–12, we primarily focus on reaching young women, girls, and students of color in underserved communities, many of whom face significant socioeconomic challenges.
The Winter 2025 session will run from January 13 to May 12, 2025.
Building Brighter Futures
Queens Gambit’s mission has always been about more than chess—it’s about building brighter futures. By partnering with these incredible organizations, we’re not only teaching a game; we’re cultivating confidence, critical thinking, and a sense of community in every child who joins us.
We look forward to seeing the impact of this winter’s partnerships and the continued growth of our program as we work together to empower the next generation of leaders.
Stay tuned for updates on our winter sessions and the remarkable stories that emerge from our collaboration with these outstanding partners!
